The saxony-based company thyssenkrupp Carbon Components, previously known for the only carbon wheels with worldwide road approval, has developed the first full carbon handlebar for motorcycles. Using unique and patented manufacturing technologies, the product offers extreme stability and strength combined with vibration damping and very low weight.

At just 365 grams, the carbon handlebar from thyssenkrupp Carbon Components offers an immense weight saving compared to original motorcycle handlebars. It owes its extremely light weight to a special continuous carbon fiber composite in a hollow structure as a result of an innovative production process. The handlebar is manufactured "Made in Germany" at the Kesselsdorf site near Dresden.

Even at first glance, the component impresses with its high-quality appearance. This is created by a carbon fiber fabric in a classic twill weave which is highlighted by a matt finish. However, not only aesthetic but also ergonomic aspects make the handlebar an indispensable add-on part on every motorcycle. The improved stability and strength compared to a steel handlebar is an essential aspect for safety on the road. In addition, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) has the positive property of damping vibrations. This leads to improved ergonomics for the rider and makes the vehicle easier and more relaxing to handle.

As usual with butted handlebars, the diameter is 22 mm in the grip area and 28.6 mm at the clamp. The full carbon handlebar, available under the gazzini brand, can therefore be used for a large number of common motorcycle models. An existing TÜV certificate enables the registration of the add-on part in the vehicle documents.

The handlebars will be sold via the Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH branch network and its online store. thyssenkrupp Carbon Components C Dr. Jens Werner is positive about the cooperation: "We are proud to be able to serve another segment of the motorcycle aftermarket with the full carbon handlebars and thus expand our product portfolio. The cooperation with Louis gives us the opportunity to present our knowhow to a wide range of customers and convince even more enthusiastic motorcyclists of carbon as the material of the future and its outstanding properties."
