On October 15, 2026, BioM and BayStartUP brought eight selected start-ups together with venture capital investors and business angels from the life sciences sector. Now in its second successful year, the joint Pitch Day once again demonstrated the strength and diversity of Bavaria’s start-up ecosystem – from next-generation bioconjugation, RNA-drug analytics and cancer therapies to AI-supported diagnostics, cellular mechanics and single-molecule analysis.

With only six minutes on stage, each team had to turn complex science into a clear investment case. Targeted pitch training by BioM and BayStartUP in advance helped the founders sharpen their messages, highlight market potential and prepare for investors’ questions.

For Georg Urtel from the start-up Träpp, the preparation was key to translating its single-molecule technology into a compelling investment case: “The training helped us demonstrate clearly how trapping individual proteins in solution allows researchers to observe molecular dynamics in real time – and why this can open new opportunities for drug discovery.”

The Art-Glove team likewise used the format to highlight the practical value of its medtech solution: “The pitch day helped us to communicate clearly how Art-Glove can bring effective therapy into patients’ homes,” explained Philippe Vayda.

Together, the two perspectives show how concise communication can make both deep-tech innovation and patient-oriented solutions compelling to investors.

For BioM, the Pitch Day is an important platform for strengthening entrepreneurial skills in the life sciences. “Our goal is to help start-ups translate scientific excellence into a convincing business proposition. These pitching events create exactly the right setting for this,” said Elisabeth Harbich, Project Manager Start-up Support at BioM.

BayStartUP emphasized the same focus on clarity and investor relevance: “The teams showed that scientific depth and entrepreneurial ambition can be presented convincingly in just six minutes,” said Dr. Carolin Plagmann, Head of Investor Network at BayStartUP.

The event concluded with a networking lunch, giving founders and investors space to continue discussions, explore potential collaborations and establish new connections.

The start-up teams participating in the BioM x BayStartUP Pitch Day 2026:

  • Art-Glove – 4-in-1 Therapeutic Massage Glove
  • Connectase – Next Generation Bioconjugation
  • Fusix – Engineering the future of cancer care
  • Goodly Technologies – Decentralized AI eye diagnostics
  • Lipospec – Unleash the Potential of RNA-drugs
  • Mithryon – Degraders: designed, not discovered
  • Rivercyte – High-throughput cellular mechanics for earlier diagnostics
  • Träpp – Trapping single molecules in solution

The next BayStartUP x BioM Pitch Day will take place in June 2027, at BayStartUP. Start-up teams currently seeking funding and interested in presenting their business ideas in this setting are welcome to apply by contacting Elisabeth Harbich at harbich@bio-m.org.
